About Station Pointe Greens
Station Pointe Greens is being designed as a landmark sustainable green housing development in North East Edmonton. Currently in its research and design stage, this community is ambitiously targeting achieving "net-zero" status while remaining affordable. The development will consist primarily of apartments located in four "connected" buildings each with its own distinct community. In addition, a block of townhomes are also being contemplated. While the overall development will consist of approximately 220 units for both purchase and lease, the creation of distinct "buildings", each with its own co-operative community association will create smaller and friendlier "neighbourhoods".

Coupled with the residential component will be over 14,000 square feet of commercial and retail space and a day care centre located within the Community Centre. Parking for both the residential and commercial facilities will be located in an underground parkade.

This mixed use development will be located adjacent to the Belvedere LRT and bus terminal within an ambitious renewal project initiated by the City of Edmonton and the surrounding community. Already recognized by the Canadian Urban Institute with a Brownie Award for Brownfield Development in 2008 and an Award of Excellence from the Canadian Institute of Planners in 2004, the Station Pointe area is a redevelopment of the historic Fort Road Old Town area in Edmonton, Alberta. Station Pointe Greens represents the first phase of the land development project, a one-of-a-kind mixed use development where people live, work, shop and attend community events and programs.

Station Pointe Greens will rise, in a grand gesture, from a vacant site in the Station Point redevelopment area to offer a range of residential housing types and sizes, and is exciting storefronts with intimate coffee houses and local eateries facing Fort Road. The design plan allows easy pedestrian access to the open urban spaces beyond its walls, the adjacent LRT station, and to the centrally located community centre, accessible by both residents of the complex and the surrounding community.

The objective is to create an Urban Village that is mixed in terms of income, size, household configuration, housing tenure and the age of the residents.

Communitas, the developer of the Station Pointe Greens project, has the honour of being the first approved developer on the site and the distinction of setting the standard for all future residential and commercial development in the area.
